My experience of driving test at DMV

driving test

Taking the practical test for driving license B at the DMV is an exciting moment. How is the start of your exam? What can you expect on the day of your driving test? And probably the most important; how and when you will get the coveted license?

Application of the driving test at the DMV

Your driving instructor determines when you’re ready for the practical test for obtaining your license-B. By doing so in consultation, you can get the latest lessons and still pay attention to elements within the riding course where you still feel insecure or use the remaining driving instruction to put the final finishing touches. Once you’re ready, it is applied at the DMV, which you then assign a date and time to make it practical. Generally, the reservation period is from 6 to 7 weeks from the date of receipt of the application at the DMV.

Introduction at the DMV

If you have not previously completed an Interim Test, this is possibly your first contact with the DMV. Ask your instructor if this goes with you, both in the introduction / meeting with the examiner during the practical exam.

Procedure before the exam

At the time indicated on your call, you are invited to take a seat at the table with the examiner. The examiner will ask you for a valid ID and check whether you have passed the theory test. The validity of your theory is 1.5 years. Then, the examiner will inform you about the course of events during the exam.

The practical

The exam starts with the walk to the parking / the instruction vehicle. You are asked a registration of any vehicle to read at a distance of approximately 25 meters (eye test).
At some distance to the instruction vehicle, you start with the control of the “test vehicle”, after a further check out and follow in the instruction vehicle and you make the instruction vehicle roadworthy before the start of the test route. The operation of the tail / brake light and the turn signals are always pre-checked for correct operation.

The test route

During the ride there are both driven inside and outside the urban area. You will be assessed during the exam route, on independently driving route and independently carrying out special maneuvers. The assessment also looks at the hazard and eco-driving.
The exam routes may be included so-called “coordination centers”, which consist of local recognizable objects or landmarks where you are able to ride. There may also be required to operate for 10 to 15 minutes on a set route by a navigation system.

The examiner may have to intervene during the practical exam in order to avoid a traffic violation, a collision or other hazard. If the intervention does not like being overweight assessed, this does not affect the outcome of the examination. The examiner then determines this on the basis of the nature and severity of the error that was related to the procedure.

The total test takes about 55 minutes. This is inclusive of the time necessary for the introduction and the subsequent discussion. Within the evaluation, the strengths or weaknesses or skills are discussed also.

Completion of the driving test

You need to complete a self-reflection form which outline your own strengths and weaknesses.

You passed

The examiner will give you a verbal positive result. The results form with only the box “enough” is checked.
The DMV provides the explanation skills and fitness to drive off. These statements are recorded in the central driving license register (CRB) and with the National Road Traffic (RDW).

Request your license
Once the records are entered at the DMV, you can apply for the license at the church in town (a day later). It is about a week before you can pick up the license card from the municipality. Until you receive your license, you should not drive yourself, even if you passed the exam.
If you obtain the license after your eighteenth birthday, you are an independent driver with the car on the road.
If you have the license for your eighteenth achieved, then you can only specify one of the supervisors to drive.

You failed

A statement that you would rather not hear from the mouth of the examiner. Remember that less than 50 percent of candidates pass the first time for the license.
Behind the examinations which are deemed insufficient, the subjects that have been highlighted for improvement. These parts can then be further perfected in the next part of your driving course.

Refusal of the driving test
You will not be admitted to the exam if:
You yourself announce that you can no complete the exam
Can not identify yourself with a statutory document
If it appears that you are staying more than one year and six months ago have passed the theory test.
The application card noted that you have to wear glasses or contact lenses and you will appear without glasses or contact lenses
Evidenced by publication in the Government Gazette that you are disqualified from driving by the court.
